The Day My Kids Spread Their Wings

What experiences in life helped you grow the most?

When the  nest felt empty, cold, and bare,
Reminding me, it was built to send them there.
Not to keep, but to make them strong,
To teach their wings where they belong.

And in that quiet, I came to see,
This was the trial that molded me.
For love’s true essence is not to restrain,
But to release with joy, devoid of pain.”

Says The Little One

A tiny speck he was, rolling on the surface of the vast and boundless world,

The larger droplet, kept pleading to be careful, but was generally unheard.

If I come to you he said, I would lose my identity for sure,

Nevertheless my love for you is immense and pure.

The water beneath looks alluring and I envisage a jump into it very soon,

Then who knows I rise in the night with the tide, when in the sky appears the mighty moon.

Veracious Twilight

“But you were small last time..we met”.. she could not believe he was so tall,

The elder sister that she was, she was there for all his little falls.

They posed in front of the mighty sea as it embraced the sun ‘n it’s glory,

And the unstoppable waves, collided all around, to be a part of this beautiful story.

The gentle sea breeze tickled them and whispered as they smiled,

A sibling is always your best friend, grown up or as a child.

You Make Me Proud

Jayati, as you turn 21

It’s beautiful to have a kid who is always a kiddo at her heart.

It’s an emotion beyond explanation, especially when this eternal angel is your part.

Hardships can’t stop you, you take them in a stride.

And as you successfully move ahead, my heart is so full of pride.

You are much stronger than you know and vivacious to the core,

You are not just another girl on planet, your existence means much more.

The Soldier Dad

He stood there moltan like wax,

As he heard that he was a father now.

His eyes were wet with tears of joy,

He wanted to be there, but didn’t know how..

His duty to the motherland held him back,

He was a soldier first, he knew in his heart.

But the same heart whispered that he was a human too,

From his emotions, how should he part?

Days, months and years flew by,

And the visits to home were few and rare

The achromatic journey of life moved on,

Of love from the family he missed his share.

The children grew up and moved on to new directions,

The wife still waited for togetherness though,

She knew he was the finest one,

Even if life’s boat alone she had to row.

Rock he was, strong and steady,

With his shoulders broad and wide.

His absence never meant he didn’t love them,

Just that his life wasn’t a very smooth ride.

Eternal Guardian

I noticed him slowly fading away,

I am a fan of his dexterity to evolve.

Even though the planet seemed busy with the sun,

The moon would never cease to revolve.

He knows his absence would lead to very dark nights,

Hence like a father he is forever around,

We may or may not acknowledge his presence,

But when the vision gets obscure, he can always be found.

Charisma

Your intriguing ways, your charm as a kid,

Will make you fly effortlessly in the direction you have chosen.

Engrossed in motherhood, I just realised,

Eventually the butterfly would emerge, time wasn’t frozen.

Point of view

That room which is next to the peacocks , he pointed.

That’s where I will land very soon..

It’s known as the senior class you know..?

I can take you along in the noon..!!

The sister who was elder to him, stood amused,

Adoring the twinkle in his bright eyes.

You need to just grow up cherishing each momen,t she said.

It’s the awareness of the present and not any number that makes you wise..!!
