The sky chose today to speak in a softer voice, not thunder, not a storm, but a gentle rain falling like unspoken words. As if even the heavens knew this was no ordinary morning.
We walked beside you, not only as a wife, not only as children, but as quiet witnesses to a life lived in courage, shaped by duty, and carried with unwavering grace. Your uniform held more than rank, it carried our waiting, our hushed dinners, our steady smiles through nights of uncertainty.
And today, as the medals come to rest and the salutes begin to fade, the rain arrives, as if to soften what our hearts cannot conceal.
The children stand taller today, not because you retire, but because they finally see the weight of the man they have always called father.
And I… I stand beside you, not letting go, only holding you differently with years reflected in my eyes and a lifetime resting in my heart.
Let it rain. Let it fall where words fall short. For some endings are not meant to be dry, they are meant to be deeply felt.
The tree stood still through passing years, watching seasons come and go. A young vine wrapped its hopeful arms and chose the path to grow. No noise, no hurry marked their way, just sunlight drawing near. And quietly among the leaves flowers appeared.
Describe the most ambitious DIY project you’ve ever taken on.
The boldest thing I built was not of wood or stone, But breaking walls of doubt I’d called my own. With patient hands I shaped what I could be, A steadier soul, designed deliberately.
The ones who carry sunlight in their tone, Who make even ordinary moments feel like home. They laugh from the heart, no pretense, no ploy, I stay closest to those who arrive with joy.
Tell us about your favorite pair of shoes, and where they’ve taken you.
My favorite shoes have weathered sun and frost, They taught me journeys matter more than what is lost. Through winding roads where certainty grew thin, I learned the richest miles are walked within.
My dream home stands where the restless end, With open skies and hours that bend. A waterfall slows what the world has spun, Here, nothing is chased, and nothing is won.
Are there any activities or hobbies you’ve outgrown or lost interest in over time?
I’ve always followed what speaks to me, Unmoved by trends or borrowed urgency. What I love holds me, clear and strong, I’ve never lingered where I don’t belong.
Describe your most ideal day from beginning to end.
I wake with light before the rush of day, Move, breathe, let silence gently lead my way. I work with heart, then rest as skies turn gray, Grateful, I sleep, complete in every way.
How do significant life events or the passage of time influence your perspective on life?
Time bends my vision, reshapes what I see, What once felt urgent now asks patience of me. Through loss and becoming, my truths rearrange, Life teaches in seasons, through time, I change.
